Departing from Regatta Pointe Marina on the mile-wide Manatee River the Captain heads West toward the setting sun. With Palmetto to our North and Bradenton to our South, we soon see the Old Florida Natural Beauty of the banks of Emerson Point State Park and Desoto National Memorial Park as we make for Tampa Bay.
Cruising through the mouth of the Manatee River we enjoy a distant view of the beautiful Sunshine Skyway Bridge while watching the sun set behind the barrier islands of Egmont Key or Anna Maria Island.
Depending on the time of year we often have the pleasure of catching a Green Flash as the sun slides behind the waters of the Gulf of Mexico and sometimes we can catch sight of dolphin feeding beside the sand bar.
Daylight morphs to dusk as we retrace our course and are soon charmed by the colorful reflections of the city lights on the water as we cruise under three bridges and past The Bradenton River Walk before returning to Regatta Pointe Marina.
